During my PhD, I planned, organised, and conducted several sampling trips across the European Alps to collect Tetramorium alpestre ants for my interdisciplinary studies on the social structure and behaviour of this ant species. This sampling allowed me to gain expertise in preparing and executing sampling trips for my research. Also, I was lucky to experience amazing views along the trips, see below.
